If you think your motor is going out , and you are ready to spend some dough on a "Torque Monster" for towing, Then I suggest you find a low milage LQ9/rebuild yours and slap a Magnacharger on it. IMO you will acheive the results you are looking for and still retain oem dependability...with TONS of torque everywhere...

-Theres one on eBay now for $2500 OBO

I had a long conversation with Roger a few months back and he has me decided on the butt kicker.

DUR @ .004" 272*/280*
DUR @ .050" 210*/218*
LIFT .551 / .551
LSA 114*

I basically told him what I use the truck for, how I want to continue to use it and what I'm looking for out of it and that's the selection he made.
I looked at the trucker, but it wont be great for towing. I tow 8-10k# occasionally and it does OK now with efi live and cai with maggy but other than that it needs a little more. Actually I was going to go with a HD TOW stick:

DUR @ .004" 262*/ 270*
DUR @ .050" 200*/ 208*
LIFT .502 / .502
LSA 115*

but he convinced me into the BK instead.

Would love to hear more input on what has worked. Motor finally going to the machine shop today.
LQ4, plan for 40 over (just for the added cubes) and a 1/2 point bump in compression.
Still looking at the "080".
Still towing 10k. Looking for 2500 rpm gains.
