I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Volant airbox with the scoop. I am currently using an Airaid and was wondering if I would be better off going with the Volant. I see that you can get an optional airscoop for it. I was looking for a place to purchase a K&N FIPK when I came across the Volant. If anyone has any information on what is best I would appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Kevin

Volant wants WAY to much for their scoop, do this instead. Get in the UPD group purchase on www.fullsizechevy.com and build your own ram air, here's mine.

I had a K&N FIPK, this works better and it's defintly cheaper than Volant. You really don't even have to get the UPD intake, I first did it with all the stock intake parts and it still worked better than the FIPK I had, the UPD will just make it work better.

The main difference between the two is that the Airaid has an open filter while the Volant is enclosed in an airbox. This will give you less induction noise. Haven't seen any huge horsepower differnces between the two but it doesn't hurt to draw in cool air away from the engine compartment.

if i had to sum it up really quick, id say they both suck.
the k&n kit is good, and from what i hear the upd kit is better.
just my opinion <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
