My buddy has a 03 z71 and we out his headers on in about 3hrs. not fittment issues or turning issues. i just think there are a lot better brands out there. amd if u live in snow and salt like i do. go stainless. ceramic headers only last about two to.three years in snow and salt before you will have to replce them

 

Looks like everyone missed this part of your post. Most if not all long tube truck headers are not CARB legal. If this is a concern, you might consider getting the shorty headers (like Gibson) that are legal in California.

 

you could get by getting any off brand shorty header, but whenever it will come time to smog it, it would depend on the technician smogging it if they'll over look that they are or aren't CARB legal.

 

I went with Dynatech Super Max headers & cats & Magna-Flow cat-back duals on my 08' Silverado vortec max 3 years ago. Truck runs better & sounds great. Minor fitment problem on the install (which may be due to the 6" lift kit) - left side of the Y-pipe needed to be dimpled a little for clearance but a big hammer fixed that in less time than it took me to type this. Dynatech says "these cats are intended for off-road use only". In CA that might be a bigger deal than where I'm at - your call. I'm completely satisfied with my exhaust system - front to rear - no leaks, no rust, no problems - good stuff.

 

I have some American Racing long tubes with catted Y pipe. Just give me a PM if interested.

 

Sence u live in cali.....i would move then buy headers for my truck lol jkjk
