So in order to get rid of the crank relearn code, is all you have to do is erase the code? If it is you can go to Autozone. They will let you use there code reader/eraser in the parking lot or for a $175 deposit take it home.
I had to go and get one today because my dame truck would not start after hooking up my 05 fan harness to the pcm. The scanner would not link to the pcm, so I though I fried it. Come to find out it was the pcm fuse.

When you clear the crank learn code it will come right back on until you do the case relearn. On some early trucks, you could do the case learn using a drive cycle, but am not sure of the years. If you are going to do it yourself, make sure all other codes are cleared or the case relearn will not start.

after your first driving cycle of 45 - 60 minutes thats about as good as it will get with GM's adaptive learning built into the PCM.

on the other hand if you were running low octane or bad batch of fuel when you first put the PCM in aftyer the driving cycle and you filler up with 93 good gas you may be fooled into thinking that it's getting better as you put more miles on the new PCM.
