Default Walbro GSS342?

I need a high flow pump for my Denali, It is a 04 with the in tank pump. My first impression was that I needed the Walbro 340 however after talking to different vendors everyone is saying that I need the 342? Any input on this? Is the 340 for the return fuel sytems where as the 342 is for the returnless like mine? I just want some input before I order it today. Thanks

I just installed a GSS342 in my 01 GMC today. (It's a return style by the way) I've been told, that either pump will work. I did have a problem with the install kit(s) though. I ended up using the wiring pigtail from one kit and had to splice it into the factory wiring and then the pump filter from the other kit. And I still hade to buy a 12" piece of EFI rated fuel hose to connect the pump to the top of the basket. I did finally get it though. Hope that helps.
