yo pretty much HAVE to go down the passenger side......the gas tank is in the way otherwise, just picture two pipes on that side instead of one

(I'd offer to take a pic myself...but everytime I do I forget too and **** people off)

I've seen the pics of a RC running them on sshotrods.com. I'm just curious how you guys route the dual pipes around that one crossmember, or if you route them above it?!? Also how you guys cut off the factory y-pipe. Just curious, because I'm thinking of doing it myself, and I just want to know how hard it would be.

Which crossmemeber? There is the transmission mount and then there is a crossmember that looks like a piece of pipe. My friends whic i have pics of had his drivers side pipe cut off underneath the transmission and ran a pipe up and over the transmission mount and then for the passenger side pipe its cut off right after the converter (with a couple inches of pipe left u know so u can weld new pipe on) and then bent up a little bit and ran straight back over that crossmember bar. He has center in/ center out 40 series flows true duals. SO his pipe that hooks into the drivers side mufflers is bent down and straight i think so it can hook up and i think the pass. side is run straight to the muffler. THen the pipes are routed outt he back under the bumper with short gibson tips. He has 2.5'' pipes with facotory converters and no xpipe or hpipe. It is quiet at idle iwth a slight rumble and when he floors it from stop it sound mean and very agressive. 5.3v8 99 silverado reg. cab swb... my friends truck

There's a tranny x-member, a x-member at the rear of the gas tank, and then a x-member for the driveshaft carrier bearing. The one for the d-shaft carrier bearing is the one I'm talking about. RC's don't have that, and it looks as though I can stick both pipes between the x-member and floor. There's a factory heat shield there, but I dunno?

I more or less have true-duals, but I'm using a single muffler with all plumbing on the passenger side of the truck.

Would pictures of this help at all? I can go take some right now.
