Default Weird trans problem on 04' Avalanche.

I have about 1000 miles on my new truck. Ever since I got it it seemed to shift too early at WOT. I also noticed it would almost never downshift. I compared it too another new 04' the other day and it would shift out of 1st 5500-5600 where mine would only go 4600-4800 at best. The other one would also downshift anytime I floored it.

Well today I left it in the service dept. Several people drove it and called me back saying nothing is wrong. Its all as factory said it should be. That said they adjusted nothing and changed nothing. I didn't accept it but planned on doing more research before starting any arguments. Well I got back in it and now its perfect. WOT shifts at 5500-5600 and downshifts every time.

So what do you think it was? Did it just fix itself? Anyone else have any similar probs?

Sounds strange ... they may have ran any updates to the PCM that were available and then tested it .. who knows.

I asked about that. They said there were no updates.

I know for a fact on two of my more recent GM vehicles that exhibited some strange problem, that the tech did not log the codes or steps taken when the vehicle was looked at. Both vehicles I am talking about went in with codes(not SES setting codes, but codes that something failed) and came back with those codes cleared. Tech stated he did nothing and adjusted nothing, but the vehicle was running fine again.
