Sportside 5.3

this was the first time ever that i've been to a dyno, didnt do everything as i thought out before,

The cam was installed dot to dot, its on a 112, the exhaust when i had my catback put on was 2 1/2, the ypipe (when it was one) tubing is stock size, just had some 2 1/2 pipes welded in place of cats,

i didnt tune on the dyno, (didnt want to break the bank) just wanted my a/f safe. timing is at 28, next time i go i will probably make a couple files before i leave to dyno.

hmmm, well, ummm, i'll think about it, its no biggie to tune, just do alot of searching and look at probably every file on horists site.. lol

sportside 5.3,

the 60ft on that run didnt come out, i went back another day, hit 13.5 again, and got a 2.1

What kinda tune are you running? SD w/ MAF?

hit 13.5 again, and got a 2.1
Now, that's impressive. Cut that down to a 1.7 or 1.8 and you'll be edging twelves more than likely.

You should try a bigger cam, or head work. The 220 .55X TR lobe isn't that big... What did you see peak hp @ about 6100? 6150? or did you hit 6200?

I can probably find that lobe.... it might be priority though

yea, i think 12.9 should be feasable with some et streets, and weight reduction,

i took off my speaker box , spare, factory hitch, tailgate and they weighed in at 220 pounds, that is with a walmart scale, dont know how accurate it is.

my tune is not sd, i might work on that later on, still need to read more, just using the regular dope style ifr tuning with pe, timing, other minor changes that trucks lack, and the idle tuning

if it dont hit 12's next winter, a 224r will be something i may look at, headwork is just to expensive for the gain i might get, 6.0/w headwork is more like it..

nice graph
hp looks pretty flat at 6500 (not dropping that much) are you shifting there?
it would probably keep pulling too 6700 and knock some time off, if you arent allready shifting there

It's interesting when comparing your 220-bolt on graph with Quikenuf's 220-bolt on graph.

The torque peaks mainly.

Hold on sportside. The reason that they look so different is because quickenufs graph is SAE corrected and His converter is locked. Rgvsierra's converter was unlocked. Rgvsierra's graph is using The standard correction factor which will show dyno numbers a little higher than if they were converted to SAE. It is definately not a fair comparison. This is why dyno numbers really dont mean anything. Now if everyone played by the same rules, we could really have some good comparisons to go by, but that is not the case. For example my first dynograph of the 212/218 SAE was 313.96 hp and 306.98 tq. With the standard correction the hp goes to 323.63 and tq goes to 316.43. That is a big jump from just a correction factor. Lock the torque converter like in quickenufs dyno and the numbers will be even higher. I didnt lock the converter so I dont know exactly how much it would be, but for safety, you can add another 10 hp and tq which would be 333.63 hp and 326.43 tq with the Standard correction.
