What about Gibson?

What about Gibson?
I'm just curious about people's opinions about Gibson exhaust products. Seems like Magnaflow is the exhaust of choice. I have had a Gibson stainless single in dual out back with shortie headers on my truck for about 4 years now. Actually, the main reason that I went with that system is because at the time, I could only find CARB approved dual systems from Gibson and Borla, and Borla was way too much $$$.
I have to say, the Gibson system has held up well so far, I am very happy with the quality. Great fit, still looks great...definitly not loud enough though.
I remember that after installing it way back, I did feel an increase in power from top to bottom, but I also put my foot in it alot too, so it could just be me.
Also, does anybody have any info about a Gibson muffler design? I'd like to know what goes on inside the muffler. Anybody ever cut one open?
Any input, good and bad, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My opinion .... they are over-priced, over-marketed, and over-rated. Shorties don't give much gains on these motors because the stock manifolds are actually well designed. I think there are cheaper ways to go then Gibson all around.

Here is my .02
I installed the sport truck exhaust when my truck had 500 miles
Def not loud enough - esp for the money
I thought the workmanship and fit was not that great.
I ended up ordering the Race Truck muffler and making myself a system.
It is def louder now and sounds the way I like
But - If I had it to do over again
I would choosen differently.
I feel if you want a loud system - make it yourself
