What about this plan?
I have a 99 extended-cab silverado. How fast do you think my 1/4 mile times would be if I did this:
Custom High-flow 6.0 Aluminum Heads(ported/polished/bigger valves/lower compression/etc.)
Cam (208/212 duration at .050" 500/500 lift exhaust/intake at .050" LSA 113)
Ed Wright Tuning
Procharger 9lbs. boost
ASP Crank Pulley
AS&M Long Tube Headers
4L80-E Performance Transmission
Yank 3000 Torque Converter
Don't you think that would be pretty fast? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
99 ext. cab silverado
Dual 40 series Flowmasters
Jet PCM
K&N FIPK
GMS Mass Airflow Sensor
160* Powerstat
Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer

Re: What about this plan?
The 6.0 heads wouldn't be worth it b/c the heads are made for the 4.0" bore and not the 3.78" bore of the 5.3L.....
now if you had a 6.0L......
now if you had a 6.0L......

Re: What about this plan?
yep, 4l60 is made of lead i think <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
i would just get a race prepped 4l60
and with a setup like that id go with a bigger stall and cam. Maybe a 214/218 or something along those lines with a 3500 stall, still streetable, but LOTSA power <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
one thing u gotta remember those is there is alot of other stuff u need with all that too. Injectors for SURE, and internals? (not sure if they will like that)
either way, your gonna have to bust out the check book on that one
so is this one of those dream projects or is it something you actually plan on doing in the near future?

Re: What about this plan?
be careful with that Ed WRONG tuning.
and i think it was parish8 said somewhere else on here that the 4l80e was a fairly heavy transmission with not so great gear ratios. you could prolly get a good built 4l60e for a comparable or cheaper price.
