Went from a Comp 216/220 .525/.532 to their 224/224 .568/.568 cam (both w/ 114lsa). I haven't had much drive time on the second cam yet, as my 4L60E's 3/4 gears are not engaging. I have taken it for a few WOT bursts, and mild 2nd gear cruising. I will say that I haven't noticed much of a difference as far as idle quality and stop&go driving. Performance-wise is different as I can make the truck go sideways from a 20-roll as I had not been able to do before (on the same tune), even with new tires on the back end. I have a 3000 stall speed TC. I do NOT notice any hesitation at RPMs lower than 3K. Maybe the 4.10s help a little, but a higher stall speed tends to put you higher in the rpms, thus being in the powerband a lot quicker than a stock TC.
Since you're a Comp dealer, look at Comp's grinds, and get something comparable to TR's 220 or 224 cams. TR's cams have been tried and proven to run well in 12s trucks w/ supporting bolt-ons & weight reduction.

Yah im gonna call com cams and see if they ahve soemthing in and around the 220 .580 sorta range...I dont really want a custom grind..cause for the like 600 I can get the thunder racing one with the springs and rods.....probably cheaper than a custom grind Comp....

i used the 216/220 for a long time and had very good out come with it and had some good dyno numbers, but in the last few mouths i have been working with the tr220 but i would don't like te lift,a friend of mine that builds and ports motors had com cut a cam and we have seen really good results in an cc cab truck 6.0 fully ported 317 heads and all bolt ons and a tune no,not a dyno tune either the truck ran a best of 12.64 at 109 with mt drs.
i think the tr224 is a little big for a 5.3 unless you are going with at least 4.10 gears and a 3200 stall, and a dyno tune.
the cam that the cc has is a 216/220 565/570 on a 114+2 and the truck sound stock unless you be around racing a while you will not know
