What cam for RCSB 5.3, 3600 stall, 4.10s?
Been a LONG time since I've been on here! Truck is 2000 RCSB 4x4 that had an LS1 in it last, but it threw a rod so we put a 5.3 back in it to get it running again. Also just put in a Racetronix drop in assembly with the Walbro 255 and we reused the long tubes. Currently running 4.10s and since pulling the cammed LS1 we also put the yank 3600 converter in a box on the shelf. Now I'm ready to put in another cam along with the converter. The truck is just a play around vehicle that won't ever see a trailer and mainly looking for a fun street truck that could hit a 12 if taken to the track. Now days, tuned RCSB F150s are running those numbers so Id like to run at least that.
I called Texas Speed and they recommended a 228R 600/600 109 LSA.
Other cams I'm looking at are:
Howard Rattler (226/234 525/525 109)
BTR STG4 Truck (224/230 480/480 109) Not sure if this is "No Springs Required"
Cam Motion Little Chopper (222/223 595/587 108+3)
Anyone running these or have any recommendations?

but for real: that's a perfect question for the great folks at Brian Tooley, Texas Speed, Pat G, Summit, etc. who do that for a living.
what top end are you running (NBS truck, NNBS truck, LS1, etc)? how big of a throttle body? heads?
that .480" lift probably could get by without springs, but i'd at least throw in some LS6s for good measure - especially if your current ones have high miles. but on that note, truck LS motors do pretty dang good in the .550-.600 range for lift, especially with a good top end.

The heads are what came on 5.3s before they went 799/243, I’m assuming 862s. I’d check, but the truck is at a friends house getting a brake job. I’m running a BBK 85mm that’s been on their forever along with the factory manifold.

Never gonna hit 12s unless you switch up the top end. If you switched intake manifolds you probably could though. Do some light head porting too.
