Default what did i do?

i replaced my intake with a TBSS intake and installed LT headers and after about 300 miles the engine starts knocking really bad and this is what i find.

i found nothing wrong with the cylinder walls. in fact they are perfect. but the heads are smashed and the spark plug is bent. WTF???

damn dude, you didnt hear that pinging? did you tune the engine after the mods?

Did you suck some rocks up thru the intake?
That looks horrible.
pull the pistons and see if the rings or ringlands are broke. i dont see any part of the piston missing nor the spark plug tip missing.

it was a 5.3L but no i heard no pinging and yes Wheatley tuned it for me. i installed the tune the same day the intake went on the truck. so im confused. i have been getting a multiple cylinder misfire code when i coast down hill with the truck but we could never figure it out. but that has been going on for about 3 years.

wait, is it only that 1 piston? or do all of them look like that? it looks like 2 of the combustion chambers are banged up, but the other is fine...and only on piston is chewed up?

it also looks like you have bent intake valves...would the engine still run when you tore it apart?

Only thing I can See from what you changed is something hard fell in the port real quick since you didn't notice any detonation...that's a real bummer man
