I had a Radix on my truck and loved every minute of it. It was the best decision that I ever made when modding my "stock lower end" 4.8l. Now that I am stuffing the built 4.8l, I felt that it woould be a good like to step it up with my F/I unit too. My mechanic (Don @ Dez Racing--->) is a authorized dealer for the STS turbo kits and fabs up killer FMIC systems for them. his tuning is awsome and he got me a good price with intercooler. i had a guy looking to buy my Radix for good money. So i guess it was just time for me to step it up.
After that being said you should buy a Radix and feed it with a STS kit

Wow! How did you get 15psi??? I thought most coudn't get over 11psi except when Blown did it on his own truck? At 15psi the TQ is totally believeable but now your HP is low, but with detonation problems I could see it dropping off before it got to peak.

Please scan the sheet. I am VERY interested!!

And Grippy, hush. You're still gonna be staring at my tailgate no matter how much we debate this issue. :p

It's ok though lil buddy. I'll let you hold my helmet between runs while I talk to the lady fans.

Ok, with the research I've done so far, it appears I can get the "BASIC" STS kit for about $1200 less than the "COMPLETE" Radix kit.

Add:
Garrett GT 67 Turbo: ~$400
Electronic boost cont: ~$150
Nelson Tune: ~$500
FMU: ~$400
Injectors: ~$400
Intercooler: ~$800??

So, on top of, say, $3500 (for a good price), add $1850, plus, say, $800 for an intercooler.
Total: $5350
Total with intercooler: $6150

Now, the question is...
~$3500 STS Basic
~$5350 STS Goodies
~$6150 STS Goodies + Intercooler
~$4700 Radix

On a side note:
BlownChevy: I have to totally disagree with your post:
Cost should not be an issue when going with any power adder....when it is a question of how much...then I feel you need to wait until you are 100% ready.

Cost is always an issue no matter what mod/car/toy someone goes with. Look at my sig. I've spent countless hours debating what to go with. Example: my '03 Z06 I went with Heads/Cam/Headers over a Supercharger or Turbo. Yes, it mostly came down to the $$$$. $5,000 vs. $9,000 vs. $13,000.

I think I understand your point though. I'm simply looking to get the best power/reliability/fun/etc for my ~$3500-$6000 in the case of my Denali.

I would be worried about a STS without an intercooler of some kind. How high would IAT's be on a STS kit without the FMIC?

I personally love my whipple supercharger. I bought the supercharger with out electronics for $2,900 then ordered 43lb. injectors $400 and then finished it off with a tune from allen $425. Total $3725 . My truck was a scsb with a 4.8. Allen tuned the truck with 10 psi 16-17 degrees of timing with no spark knock. Result and this was with a stock stall only mod was lunati cam 13.4@102. I was happy with it.

I'd have to say those numbers are pretty rough. You should shop around a little more. Afterall, I got my STS kit with all the Goodies, pump, injectors, and Intercooler, minus tuning for less than 4k.

Great price! chris99gmc & JERRY2500: can you post here (or send me an email if you feel better about it) and let me know who you went through for these prices? And exactly what you got with the "kit" you bought. I would really appreciate it!

VortecSierra, why would you be worried about a STS without an intercooler of some kind?

I would have to think that if you were running hard in hot weather that IAT's would be too high to see a good increase in power without detonation. Not hardly apples to apples, but i had a non-intercooled turbo diesel that had intake air temps through the roof at 6-7 psi. It was a front mount turbo however.
