theres nothing that you can do about the taper in the intake itself...
if you port it out the geometry of the air/fuel ratio is thrown off...
some have done it but i don't think that noone has been sucessful with it...
the only other thing i can think of is to use the eldebrock intake with the 90* elbow on it to get the full potental of your motor...

well i got the motor in again and i'm tunning it a few hours every day...
so far i've noticed that my cams powerband doesn't start until 5000 rpm....
so i'll definitly need the intake for sure and maybe a set of heads...
