I emailed Allen the other day, and he said my cam choices were a bit too big for my 4.8. He said that the stock heads don't really do so well in the upper .500" lift region (+.560").
So I thought why not increase the duration while lowering the lift. So here's a grind that strikes my fancy:
Lunati 55007- 230/237 .544/.543-112

The f-body guys seem to love this cam, and it's easy on valvetrain parts. Its kinda like a big hotcam. I'm not affraid of some lope, in fact I want some. But I just don't wan't this choice to be too big also. I think with this cam I'll be able to buzz my 4.8 to 6500 and actually make some power. It will help if I decide to spray the giggle gas down the road

that cam is way to big for the 4.8. I would only put that in a 5.7 or 6.0. For you I would look at something with around 220/220 224/224 but wouldn't go much bigger then that.

I'm all for big cams but if you look at alot of the real #s most F-body guys put out they dont seem to vary much between a 218cam or a 237 cam. is 10-15rwhp really worth all the headches that go with a huge cam? Not to me.
