comp cam 224/224-568 568- 114, is this a good choice for the 5.3. i want to keep the stock stall and gears. got a good deal on the cam, should i put it in?

if you want to keep the stock converter and gears no. I speak from experience seeing as how I have a 224/224 in my 5.3L with a stock converter and gears.

it's fun on the highway, but it sucks down low. FWIW I ran a 2.7 60' with that setup

I also had a 224/224 114* cam. Either gear and converter or think slightly less duration.

I have a slightly smaller cam in my 6.0 with a 2600 stall abd it feels dead until about 3400rpms.
With that in mind i'm goin to bet your not gonna want to run that cam on 5.3 with stock stall/gears.
Take Randoms advice and go with something else.

I daily drive mine, you'll hate it man. I'm not making things up. That's a big cam even for a 3000 converter

It won't haul anything with a stock stall and gear ratio.
A 220/220 would still be too large with stock parts in all honesty.
