Default What do you think

I just got a call from a buddy who owns a salvage yard. He just pulled a 6.2L from a denali. Wants to sell just the motor PRETTY cheap I think.(throttle body to oil pan) I think. It has 15,000 miles on it and he want like 2500isshh. Now the big ???? can i put this in my 2006 rcsb 5.3L pickup, how much headache will this be? I plan on deleteing the vvt and installing a cam before i drop it in. Its sounds pretty awesome but is this Possible.. He says anythings possible which i kind of beleive, but Labor aint free.

You'll have to buy a box that converts the crank signal to one that is compatable with your pcm. Lingenfelter sells it for $255. $2500ish for the motor. To delete the vvt your going to need a new front engine cover, cam, valvesprings. Not for sure maybe a timing set and oil pump. Your up around a thousand right there. The combo will have to be tuned so another $500+. Tack on labor and your looking at a pretty hefty sum.

yes your right. is that all I will have to get is the crank signal box from them? This thing will bolt up to a 4l65e? I know it has to be tuned also that's not a big deal. Might just leave the engine stock put a turbo on it.

I'm not too familiar with the swap, but if they have pretty decent acceleration in an escalade the motor alone would probably haul *** in a RCSB

Yes it should all LS engines have the same bell housing bolt pattern.

Think of the 6.2 as an improved LS2. The LS2 was matched to 4L60/4L65s in corvettes, SSRs and TBSSs. Should be a easy swap but I will take one for the team and put it in my truck if you preffer

A guy I know has this swap in a 05 rcsb 4x4, cammed, stalled, sprayed... run mid 7's in the 1/8th. Runs 8.0 or better on motor

BTW what is the price? this guy copped his for $2,200 with like 4,000 miles on it. but they usually go for $4,000 +
