Default What Does Everyone Think?

Right now I have a 5.3L stepside reg cab with JBA headers, custom flowy exhaust, and a CAI. The problem is my dad has an 01' Lightning with 20K miles and he is now going to sell it. My truck is an 01' silverado with 13K miles. Should I sell my truck to get the lightning as a daily driver or mod my truck with the setup I desribe below. His lightning is in great shape and it is a really fun truck to drive, it puts a current 358 to the wheels, which makes it quick even aty 4700lbs. Since my truck is worth about $8K less should I put that towards my truck. Plus my truck loos way sicker. It's charcoal with sclade handes, shaved rear, a custom LS1 SS style fiberglass hood, dropped 2-4'' and has centerline 20's. Wait be right back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I refuse to drive a ford unless I have to, don't get me wrong the lightnings are nice but I would rather mod my chevy and the hand a lighting his *** on a plate. I say let your dad sell it and keep what you got.

Yeah, Im a Ford Hater too, but you have to respect that truck fo what it is! So I agree. Plus a lot of fagets drive em. Although my almost stock SS takes out the 03-04 Cobra aslong as they are stock. They are still fast none the less.

What do you like??? Your truck sounds . Centerlines are bad ***. I want a set. IMO your truck looks better and for 8K you could have a sick truck.
You could drop in a 408 stroker and 4L80 for 8K along with a little N20, that would smoke a lightning
Or drop a stock 6.0 with a cam, built 4L80 with 3200 stall and a D1SC with a bigger FMIC
Why couldnt I have thought of this when I had a fat wad of money to blow

I would honestly go for the lightning even though I am a chevy guy. It will take a lot of $$ and work to be as fast as that L, and even though it is a ford the L will be stock, and more reliable. Lightnings are one of 2 ford vehicles that I would be happy to drive.
