Is there a downside to doing a 2/4 McGauhys for stockers and then swapping on 18's? I ask because I live in Upstate NY and will probably put stockers back on in the winter (16's) and then the 18's for when the snow is gone. Just wondering if there is a disadvantage to the kit that fit's 16's.

I encourage you to call them, they're very knowledgeable, and nice also.

I went with a 2/4 hotchkits on my 99 ex cab 2" drop spring in fornt 4" drop leaf springs in back. Had it on for about a 8 months and could not stand it. Too choppy and bottomed out alot. Handled awsome though. I then changed over to the DJM set up with the 2" lower control arms in front, and stock leaf springs in back with 4" drop shackels and hangers. The ride on the DJM was almost stock. I was really happy with the DJM.

This is very encouraging, as the DJM kit is what I first intended on getting. I am curious - how much to you bottom up with the DJM kit?

After doing some measuring last weekend I noticed that once you remove 4" from the rear, it only leaves 2" of clearance (suspension travel). That's not a whole lot a clearance (my Z28 has more than that - I think) for a truck. I almost felt like scrapping everything and only do a 2" drop in the rear to level the truck.

I also plan on getting the Hotchkis antisway bar kit as well.

My DJM on the '04 rides much better than the Hotchkis did on my '99. Doesn't handle nearly as well though. The DJM bottoms out a whole lot more too.

I have a 3/4 drop. It rides ok. Since i put the lower tires on it, it is a little more bouncier in the back. With my other tires it was a ok ride. Just be careful going over the speed bumps.
