Question

I know 4.8/5.3 is suposed to have head casting #862. But i cant find what 706's go with. Anyone who reads this with a 6.0 please go pop your hood and check for me.

Very important,

Thanks,
Ron.

Did some research and from what i get the 862 are sand castings and the 706 are die castings. The 706's flow a little better due to the cleaner casting, and smoother ports.

But they are 4.8/5.3 heads.

Why are most castings 862's and ever so rarely you find a 706? Were they meant for another country or something and chevy ran out of 862's?
