well we are finally making it along the way to getting some mods done...we have the UPD intake on there and are getting the HPP3 soon....

So we are thinkin exhaust next...for max HP gains what do each of u suggest...???

 

Coming from an old time racer. Open tube headers always worked best for me. Little too noisy on the street though.

 

Not looking for the LOUD exhaust yet...just enuff to get the tuff little 4.8 into the 14s N/A...

So Far we have the UPD and HPP3...

also on the list to hit 14s N/A are headers and ASP Pulleys

 

for a 4.8L....

2.5" duals, an h-pipe (little more backpressure over x-pipe good for the low torque), your choice of muffler

 

since we are on the subject, how about for a 5.3l?

i had one chamber flows on my old truck with dumps, but on this one, i want to use the chrome tips i have just laying around that initially were on the truck before the dumps and one chambers...

what muffler do u suggest? i wanted to do something different than a flowmaster to see how it sounds.. borla? magnaflow? gibson?

i had a magnaflow on my 4cyl s-10 and it sounded pretty damn good for a 4cyl...

next question:
what kina of muffler setup?
in one out two, one single muffler w/two tips,
or get a "trual" dual out... single in single out

My old Dynomax <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> (Ultraflo Welded) 1 in/ 2 out with dumps that will bolt right up to your truck right now. I'll let it go for $75. Like I said, It will bolt right up. It already has the hangers and flange from the Y pipe. It was a little louder than I needed with the family and towing at 2800+ rpm.

I understand its too loud for the family and towing...but as u kno we dont do ne towing and stuff...and i am asking u honestly is it worth $75 cause i dont have cash to thro around and will we see HP gain from it??
