last page of this tread has a good comparison on the hp/tq gain, 10 horse make not be able to be felt but the throttle response will be better, 1-2 mpg+ could be had with this mod

i have them on both my silverado and my wifes escalade. i noticed a difference in MPG's on the esky and a quicker throttle response on both. as far as HP goes the seat of my pants dyno i used didnt notice any gains. but i agree it is much quieter than the clutch fan.

Better throttle response on my 05 for sure. No noticable change in power really, but mpg improved slightly. That and the truck warms up faster now in the cold, just as I suspected and hoped for!

It provides colder A/C when sitting at idle or stop & go traffic. The electric fans provide constant air flow over the A/C condensor. The mechanical fan doesn't provide the constant air flow at idle. The vehicle isn't moving fast enough in stop & go traffic to provide airflow across the condensor.

That's the first I have ever read of anyone thinking it's the other way, lol. I won't know on the HD until the summer and see if it makes a difference. In hot weather last year while crawling in traffic the a/c in my truck would noticably lose it's cold blowing ability until I got moving. Same as any clutch fan equipped truck I have ever owned that the a/c worked in. Any e fan vehicle I have owned in the past never exhibited this problem.
