Go with 4.10s since your getting such a big rim

I will not get the eaton posi if the G80 is enough. I will just get the 4.10 gears. Do I still need the install kit, or is that for the posi only?

The problem w/ the G80 is it only locks under 20mph. then a governor keeps it from lockin in , on the street in low speed turns, if I matt it, the burb just fries the tires like a one legger. the posi doesn't lock all the way but it works at all speeds.
Flem, sorry I did not look for your tire size in your sig. My bad.

Paw, Flem is correct the G80 does not lock at speeds above 20 mph unless it is already locked. So I guess it depends on how you drive your truck and when you need the traction. If you are finding that you need traction when your vehicle speed is above 20 mph then perhaps the posi would be better for your purposes. I am not sure if you need an install kit if your are only changing gears and not the diff but be sure to get your backlash set correctly for sure. If you search around you should find info on setting the ring and pinion lash. I read a post on it but don't seem to be able to remember exactly where right now.
