what to go with a cam?
I am going to be buying a new cam for my 6.0. Around a 224 i think. What other mods would you think would help? I dont want to put a lot of money in my heads right now low on funds lol.

retainers dont do that much for you....why are you only going 224 in your 6.0....thats barely a cam with that many cubes anyways though, you could get some LT's unless you are stuck on your shorties... pushrods i would definitly do. springs definitly, retainers and rockers and lifters no....get a stall too...like a 3000 or 3200 and some gears. once you get those two things then you are getting kinda close to how much heads run so if you dont want to spend that much money i dunno....with the 224 or anything like that a stall is definitly a must have

How big do you think i should go soon2bspooled. I thought that was a pritty big cam. I have a 2600 stall and dont really want to swap it out, so what would be the biggest cam i should get, remember its a DD.

yea bigger isnt better but with a 6.0 you could easily go with a 226 or something. many many people put the 224 in their 5.3's or 5.7's, so with the 6.0 you should be fine with a 226 no problem but you will have to switch to a higher than 2600 converter. if you dont want to swtich converters you should rethink the cam size and go with a 210/218 or a 220/220 or something liek that. IMO a 3000-3400 converter would be ideal. you can check into fuddle ------> (sponsor) get a stall for $400 or $550

larger isnt better but if SETUP properly then yes it is. my power band is great, user friendly and everything. i wouldnt change it at all. actually thinking of going my CR to help with more overall power from the cam i run.
to run a large cam you need CR to get most out of it. and as for ppl saying trucks arent meant to be like that come ride with me, youll see that my truck doesnt slouch down low at all, has more then enough cruising power to drive around city its when you hit about 4k up till 6600 is where its noticable. i could creep all day and you would never know there is acam in this truck unless you heard the sound this is if you stay in 3rd to you hit a decent crusing speed.
but to pick a cam you need to be practical of what your goals and expectations are out of the truck. me i drive mine daily since my stang is down. and it drives nice and i can do it for more miles. ive logged over 1k on this setup. only major down fall is my MPG and thats mainly cause of my map sensor had a bad seal on it. that and the guy i had tune the truck i guess wasnt used to a setup like i have so i run a little rich on topend. but honestly go a decent size if you want fun/power/speed but for a normal i would stick around 226 but youll want more i will tell you this.
