Question What Headers????

Just wondering who makes the Best fitting, best flowing, easiest install, best overall headers for a 2003 2500 hd 6.0 ex cab?
Looking to hook up to stock exhaust if possable.
What kind of gains off the headers on a truck with cold air kit, and good cat back.
After headers I would also tune truck.
Thanks for your info, prices would help and install time would also.
Thanks again!

LT (long tube) headers you will see the most power gains. if you get LT's, like ASM, you have to have custom welding done. the only long tubes that i can think of, but are really pricey, are FLP's which come with a cat that will bolt right to your catback exhaust.

the FLPs are the sweetest setup available...BUT, i haven't seen anything that says they make more power than the ASM, or thorley headers...or the Hamms or TOGs for that matter.

I installed the Thorley 310YC headers on my K2500 6.0 L and I really like them. It cost $75 to have some custom tube bending and welding at a muffler shop that does some race car exhaust work. The TOGs and ASM's would have required the same amount of welding (I had instructions faxed from all three companies before I bought the Thorleys). I really like the Thorleys and I'm going to show them installed on my truck in the next week or so, but my computer is having some intermittant problems and I am going to have to do a clean install of Windows XP first. One of the problems is in working with .jpg files.

I'd go with the TOG headers myself. Get them coated though. Any LT header you should get coated. Don't bother with shorties .. they are the only true bolt on header and aren't worth it really. The TOG's will weld up about an inch in front of the cats.

OK, it sounds like not much diference between the LT's.
I guess price is the biggest, and to reconect doesnt sound bad.
What about a tune?
Should I dyno tune with ls1 edit or buy a preditor?
I have acess to both very easy, just depends what is better.
I know ls1 edit is by far better for my car, but dont know about it for my truck.
What kind of power are the above headers making?
10-20?

I have fans, a cold air intake that I didn't notice much difference on, and a TT3000 and the TOG headers uncorked after the Y-pipe and it was good for 14.35 at 93

If you know what your doing ... add your truck onto your EDIT cable. You can get the most out of that, other than that .. there is a lot of talk about Nelson's tune.

ONYX, i wont be doing them till spring anyway. Let me know when they come out. worth a look.
Flyer, that is moving.
what about the 6.0 hd with similar mods?
I dont know if i can use my edit, it is for 99 car, lots of people say i can and some say i cant, I'll have to strap it down and find out. I'll prob wait till I get more then the 2,000 miles i have now and also till i get my headers in. I do love the truck so far, I had an 02 avilanch befor, very nice but wouldnt tow my car and enclosed verry well.
