L92. The Patriot Stage IIIs (full CNC porting)flow around 310cfm and the L92 flows 330+ out of the box. You can still get the L92's with decent springs for under $1000 from like SDPC, whereas the Patriots run around $1295.
There's been a bunch of LQ9 w/L92 head buildups in Hot Rod, Car Craft and other mag's where they made like 540HP with EFI and over 550 with a carb a good cam. Everyone claims you need the right cam for the L92's because of the big difference in flow between intake and exhaust, but it seems they still make power with the older LSX head cam grinds.

more exhaust duration is what the L92s like. I think you should go with the 317s that I will be hand porting myself here in the near future.

All that is exactly why I went with the ported 317 cylinder heads (I also had to consider the fact that I have a cable TB which makes the swap more complicated). The L92 heads flow GREAT on the intake side, but the exhaust, even ported is less than my ported 317s. What's the point of getting more air in, if you can't get it out? I'd recommend ported 317s, 243, or even 862s depending on what compression ratio you want

Go with patriots for the best bang for the buck. I used them with stock intake, fast, and victor jr and they work awesome. BTW I'd keep the stock truck intake for a mild street truck.

bro my heads flow tremendous, intake and exhaust, just have to have the right people port them. and if you need a cable driven bracket for a l92 truck intake let me know, i got an extra.

now if youre on a budget i'd go with the heads mentioned !! this way you wont have to get a intake and the whole swap would be cheap !!
