Default what kind of shocks?? dont really know where to post this?

Ok, I need to find some perforamnce shocks for the truck
But I dont have alot of cash on hand to pay for some edelbrocks.
what suggestions do any of you have to replace the stock shocks I have on the truck now.
I need something that doesnt travel very much because I only have about 1-1/2 to play with, because of the 2/4 drop
I'm pretty much riding on springs, and it's starting to bug the hell out of me not being able to hit a crack in the road with out bottoming out
any help will be appreciated thanks,
Daniel

You may not want to run them, but they are cheap, Monroe shocks. I had their top of the line shocks on the rear of my TA that was lowered on Sportlines and they actually rode very well. I was also trying to save a few bucks for a set of KYB or Something along those lines. Just a thought.

I just need something that I can afford, for now untill I can get some good ones.
I'm just tired of the axle hitting the Bump stops all the time
how much where the monroes?
and will they let the rear travel alot?

regardless of what you get, if the shocks aren't working in their designed range of travel, they won't work right. if you can find a parts guy with a lot of time on his hands, you may be able to look at the different lengths of shocks available. compare the length of the stockers to others and you may be able to find some that are a bit shorter that would work correctly. just a thought.

I've had Doestch Tech, Edelbrock, and stock on my 2-4 drop, and overall the stockers rode the best. Edelbrocks wins for performance feel, but them and the DT were much to stiff for the roads around here. I didn't mind it at first but after a while it was very annoying getting bounced around all the time....truck would just jolt when hitting the slightest bump. The Doestch Techs rode like crap in my opinion....just felt cheap.

I've been wanting to try some Bilsteins but they only make stock size....even though the stockers on my truck now seem to be ok.
