Default What is the max stroke of the 6.0L?

What is the maximum stroke a 6.0L block will allow for? Thanks, Michael.

4" stroke is max without machining. 4.250" is the longest stroke available but, will require some machining and is NOT recommended.

ok. So I guess a 4.030 x 4 would be good ? that's 404 cubes...

Actually, a .030 over 6.0L with a 4" stroke is a 408, or a 6.69L. Check out this cool link.

ohh man I have fun with that calculator 4.060" x 4.250" sounds YUMMY 440 cubes yikes!

You can use a 4.125 stroke.

4.060 bore X 4.125 stroke ==== 427ci


I would love to tell people I have a 427 --- small block!!

I've read one some threads here from the f-bod guys that anything more than 4" stroke causes oil consumption problems and not to do it

Agree, the rod/stroke ratio of the 4"+ stuff really starts to suffer. If you do go with a 4.125/4.250 go with Oliver or Lunati billet rods since they are profiled differently than the Eagle, Callies, etc. and will require less clearancing.
