Default what model motor + what kind of HP ?

I have an 03 HD.
What model motor do I have? Or, how can I find out what model I have.
What are the differences between the truck 6.0 motors and the car LSX motors?
Can my motor make as much power as an LSX motor? If so, How?
In NA trim, what kind of power can a 6.0 make?

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

you have an LQ4 6.0L iron block v8

all parts interchange between all LSX motors - car and truck

your motor can make more power than a 5.7L ls1 because of obvious dispalcement difference also the iron block is stronger

In NA trim as an all-out max-effort 408 stroker(4" stroke on .030 overbore 6.0) id say 600rwhp is about the most NA and thats pushin it IMO

biggest differences between the car and truck are the car are aluminum block and truck is iron block and car has different intake manifold and accessory drive

you can also make lots more power with either a supercharger, turbo or nitrous

Would swapping intake manifolds make a difference?
What parts would be worth swapping over from a car to my truck? If any.

Thanks nightrunner, I really appreciate all of the info.

are you saying you have a car engine and want to swap parts over to the truck?

actually for a truck the truck intake is better than the ls1 intake but the ls6 intake is better but takes some different parts to convert over to a car intake, truck water pump pulley pressed on to a f-body water pump, and a new idler pulleybracket(speartech or homemade) are some that come to mind

on an otherwise stock engine intake manifolds wont make a whole lot of difference but after heads and cam itd make ALOT of difference

Well, not really. A freind of a freind of a freind has a one, it was in an accident. He's not parting with anything though. He wants to rebuild.

Looks like I'd be better of with aftermarket parts.

Thanks again for the help.
