Default What is my best cam option? Lq4 swap, TT3000 in NBS Tahoe

I know its probably been discussed, but i havent been able to find out much info about a cam in a Tahoe..I know since they are heavier that people run different parts..

I swapped a stock LQ4 (BB tune, Efans, Intake and exhaust) and my trans is being built right now. I ordered a TT3000 from Yank last week as well. I plan on pickin up some LTs soon as well

What cam is going to be my best choice? Its my daily, so i dont want anything too crazy, just something thats going to make a difference and id like a little chop at idle.

Some people said a tr224 is going to be too big for a heavy tahoe, so a tr220 is more of what i want..I also plan on some 918 springs and 7.4 pushrods, along with a new timing chain and gaskets..

How does this one sound?

The specs are-218/224 .562/.568 114LSA?

any other recomendations? I dont really do much towing, a small boat at the most or a uhaul...

Thanks a ton guys..I just want to get it figured out and do it right the first time so im not wasting money.

the 220/220 would be a good cam. you want as much low end TQ as possible.

that TT3000 is gonna allow you to tow a house lol!!

a TR224 isnt to big, but then again its all in what youre wanting and how you want it, big cams can work well for towing just as good as little cams, big cams can be tuned to have great manors also just like little cams

TR220 would be a good cam choice, along with some 918c and hardend pushrods

I'm going with basically the same setup in my truck (LQ4, LTs, TT3000), and I'm going with a 216/224 .561/.568 114.

Well i got an offer from a guy who had this cam, 918 springs, texas speedshop 7.4 rods, and new timing chain with gaskets..
218/224 .562/.568 114LSA?

so that would work out nicely for me?
