Default What numbers are H/C guys putting down?

What kind of power numbers are guys with ported/milled heads and an aftermarket cam putting down?

I ordered a 212/218 .558/.563 115 LSA cam and was looking at some Patriot heads with 2.0"/1.57" valves.

To be honest, very few have any head work. Several have cams. Those who do have heads, have done so to lower compression for boost. I can only recall 3 trucks with head work that run NA. One of them is Blacksheep, but its on a 6 liter. Either way, he has the fastest time on the list.

Thanks for the info, if I can ever find a truck, I will probably see what a H/C 5.3 can put out.

My 5.3 with a Comp 212/218 with 525ish lift and ported heads put down 330rwhp and 330rwtq. This was with a stock tune. A week after the dyno I got my Edit and tuned it. After the tune it felt alot better. I was going to dyno it again but I found out the a stock fuel pump has limits before I could do it.
I am probably going to get my new setup dynoed on the 31st. By that time my buddy's truck will also have a Z06 cam and heads done. We are hoping for some over 300rwhp numbers, through stocks manifolds and stock tune.
I hope this helps.

I just placed an order for a set of Patriot Stage I heads, so we will see what they can do. Just a rundown of the planned top end:

Patriot 5.3 milled .040"
Manley stock size valves
Brone Guides
Comp drop-in dual springs
PolyDyn coated combustion chambers and exhaust valves
JWIS chaing
TR ported LS6 oil pump
TR 7.35" pushrods
Yella Terra 1.7 roller rockers
ARP head studs
212/218 .558/.563 on a 115 cam

I'm hoping for 370 at the wheels with other bolt-ons and this.

why did you go with 7.35 pushrods? arent stock 7.4? is that because of the rockers?? or what?

I think you need to lower your sights just a little. 370 will be extremely difficult to reach. Ummm, make that extremely extremely difficult. But, I hope you prove me wrong

Just an FYI - One of the larger 5.3 dyno numbers we've seen is from SMOKE_UR_5.0. His truck has a similar cam (215/215 .560?) but with stock heads. Even with LS1 edit dyno time and lots of bolt ons, he just made it over 320 hp, and about 305 tq. That leaves you 50 HP below your taarget.

Blacksheep dynoed about 370, but he has a LQ9 6 liter with Stage2 heads and a larger 224+ cam with the rest of the works.

That being said, I really think your 212/218 cam won't be able to get you to 370.

If you were to buy a 4.8L truck to save a few bucks, then just drop in a 6 liter, LS1, LS6, or built stroker, you could surpass 370. I know its hard to take a new truck and pull the motor, but the results will be worth it.

The shorter pushrods are because of the .040 milled heads.

It ended up that the 7.4s are too long for the stock preload, the 7.35s are a little too short, but I'd rather have less preload then too much.

I might not make it, this was my optimistic number, but only time will tell. In reality I had 370 at the high mark, 350 as the lowest I would want. If it is somewhere in there I'd be happy.
