Default What oil pump should I buy?

For my LQ9 build I figure I'd put a new oil pump on the engine while it's on the stand. Which pump should I go with? Stock? Ported? High volume? Melling, Katech, etc? I think I also read the newer trucks with VVT had higher flowing pumps and they will fit the Gen III motors (or maybe I'm completely wrong)? Any opinions are welcome. Thanks.

For color, engine specs are:

2004 LQ9
CNC ported 243s
232/236 .600"/.600" cam
etc.

I used an 09 CTS-V pump in mine when we did the cam swap. 180k miles on the motor now and it still pegs the gauge at 5700 and idles with about 55lbs. I think the pump was $90 at the Chevy dealer.

So 2009 CTS-V, would that be the LS3 that year?

Any other opinions?

09 CTS-V is the LSA engine, the blown 6.2.

I use the Melling high volume pump in my 427. Seems to work just fine. Never thought about using a CTS V oil pump, its oem so might be a good choice to go with.

I'd just stick a stock GM pump on it. My LQ9 with 37,000 which isn't a ton of miles on it but with the stock GM pump I've got 50-55 psi cruising down the road at 60 mph and 40 psi at idle. More than enough for these engines.
