what to start with
Looking at buying a new truck. Would like to swap in a bored and stroked 6.0. I would like to know which way to go about doing this(expense wise). Start with a reg. cab v6. or v8. V6 is 4k cheaper. save money for the engine since I will tear it out anyway. Is the v6 electronics compatible. what do I need to know to make this the easiest process as possible.

****..with 6K to put into the motor you can build a Heads/Cam/Stroker 421 that will thump out 450+hp, or just buy a stock 6.0 and bolt a RADIX supercharger onto it...that combo would be good for 450+hp as well
Or you could go with a heads/cam 6.0, a Yank TT3000 stall converter and a BUILT tranny to make sure you can put the power to the ground reliably....
A good set of Stage 1.5 6.0 heads and a 212/218 .558/.563 115lsa cam would net you pretty close to 400hp at the crank after tuning

I too say get the V8. You will drive yourself nuts looking around for the "things" that the V6 trucks don't have. Plus, I don't know if you can get any amenities such as power windows and locks (LS package) with the V6 truck, (not sure tho). Plus, you will always have the brand new V8 that it came with to either put back in when you sell it (and keep your kick *** stroker bullet) or sell the original motor. The ECM is different in the V6 truck, and I know you will need things like a starter, fan, maybe a radiator.
