I was thinking just for ***** and giggles, next oil change I was going to mix all of the name brand synthetic oils. Maybe one Redline, a royal purple, a Mobil 1, Valvoline super syn, Castrol syntec, and an Amsoil; that way I can average out the performance characteristics of each oil. Then again, maybe they won't mix, I dunno. All the same 10w30. Change at about 4000 miles.

I don't mean to be one of "those people", but there is a ton of info up in the internal section on the site...

If I tried to relay what little I can remember right now, I'm pretty sure to screw it up.

The gist of it is that it's one of the top three or so performers for wear characteristes and "shearability" and things like that. It gets great reviews from the oil analysis people when run in GenIII motors. It's weight is closer to 40w, wich is recommended over the common 5w30 stuff - a lot of opinions say that the common 5w30's are very light weight 30's, and not adequate when used in a 'performance application' in GenIII's.

I use it because, over the last 36 hours here, the temperatures here have been a coldest of 25* and the warmest of 48*. I like the idea of the 0W oil moving fast on those cold morning startups. A little less wear for this little 4.8L.

Royal Purple 10w30 and A/C delco filters, going to change to K&N filters soon. Royal purple in everything but the tranny and power steering pump.
