Default What would be involved in fitting an LS1/6 intake to a truck??

I was looking under the hood of an Escalade the other day, and noticed that the throttlebody looked pretty small. Smaller than the 5.7L, anyway, so I got to wondering what kind of gains could be expected by going to a bigger throttlebody... does anyone know??

Also, along the same lines, I was wondering if anyone has put an LS1/LS6 intake on their truck... seems like it'd work well for a stroker motor where the increased stroke would make up for any lost torque at low RPM, and would pay off pretty well in the upper RPM range.

Does anyone have any thoughts here??

I think most guys took thier stock TB and had it ported and polished.

To run the intake you'd need electric fans and you'd have to re-route the belt because if clearance issues.

I have been wondering the same thing. What kind of clearance problems will you come across?

I thought I already said why.

"To run the intake you'd need electric fans and you'd have to re-route the belt because if clearance issues."

The intake would lower the location of the throttle body and the would cause the intake tube to interfere with the stock fan. Also I think the serpentine belt would need to be re-routed because the throttle body would be in the way.

You might want to read this too which was only a few threads down from yours.
