Not for the SS....which is the catalytic converter/crossover-pipe configuration that the SuperMaxx headers use (the SS exhaust IS different from the 3/4 ton 6.0's)....I discovered this AFTER buying the SuperMaxx headers (no big deal but it would have been nice to know BEFORE I bought them)....so anyone that owns a 3/4 or 1-ton with a 6.0 WILL need to purchase a cat-back for the SS to make it all bolt together without welding or fabrication

check. are you sure the exhaust hangers for the SS are in the same position as the 2500? Different frames is why I ask.

Now you are talking - I love TC's. Every Yank I've owned has been really nice.

Go with the bigger cam, imo, you're going to get it tuned anyways, your top-end can handle it, more HP, better lope, cheers, cheers.

Iron heads, little cam - all the more reason not to ditch a 70,xxx motor. None of that matters too much with the STS. If you are making 200rwhp now and you add a 6 # kit you will get 300rwhp. Hit the 2-step boost controller and bump it to 13#'s and 400rwhp. How much rwhp are you making now?? My TA makes 400rwhp but with a much bigger cam, better intake, less driveline loss, etc. - is your goal realistic. I'm new to the truck forum so bear with me - no offense intended.

If you stick NA budget a nitrous system into the mix - the juice is a lot of fun - just don't show the wife errr girlfriend where the arming switch is. hehe

Lastly, I highly doubt hand-porting heads would yield 15rwhp. Most of the gains come from hogging them out, better flow/bigger valves, 3-angle valve job and the increased compression. If I could have a race shop spend a few hours touching them up and get 15 hp for a few hundred dollars it might be worth it. I think 5 hp is more realistic - still might be worth it, same gain as an ASP pulley - who knows...

No....quite honestly I'm not, but hangers are fairly easy to move or fab up (certainly easier than the exhaust itself).....Oh, and thanks for giving me one more thing to worry about dude ...j/k man

Average stock '99-'00 6.0 RWHP dyno numbers are 260-270hp.....with the stage II heads/cam/headers/exhaust/tuning I figure I'll see 340-350rwhp, that will satisfy me until I can afford the twin-screw and then 400rwhp won't be a problem

Nitrous is in the future.....but not right away, it'll go on with the supercharger

Maybe I will look again at the STS kit...but my REAL concern with ANY turbo is HEAT, I live in DEATH VALLEY, CA...summer temps here are 120º+ for most of the summer (it's 111º today), with temps that high my IAT's will be through the roof !!!

Hand porting won't get 15 rwhp...but finishing up a set of CNC heads WILL get you something, I just have an issue spending $2000 on a set of heads when $1300 will get you within a few horsepower of the $2000 ones....the only poeple I've heard bash the Patriot heads are those that DON'T own them, and TSP's post about not carrying them anymore certainly didn't help things at all

111 degrees - ouch - a death valley turbo system might not be as good an idea.

I would do the tranny and TC first. No sense frying your tranny with the hp upgrades.

350hp - will sound great - extra pep - I agree - good luck

tranny=4L80e....that part ain't gonna be a problem

the TC is gonna come last....it's a 4WD truck and getting the converter out is gonna be a chore I'd rather save for last

I thought that the 99-00 2500 (non HD) had basically a 1/2 ton frame, and the HD had the beefier one. I might be wrong on that though.

I like your choices on all of the stuff that you picked, but if you don't go with a bit larger cam and slightly larger stall I think that you will end up wanting to take them out later and go with the bigger one. At least that is the way that I am.

Are the LS1 rockers just because you are planning on going with LS1 heads, or is there some other advantage to using them over the trucks rockers?

my 2 pennys not worth much today but a 100 years ago you could get $hit load of candy.

just who's truck is this yours or the girlfriends, until she is called the wife what she thinks is hers is still yours
just remember when the girlfriend leaves it is with her stuff only,
when the wife leaves she takes it all with her.

im with the rest on that cam it is kind of small for what you are trying to build
but i think i would be looking at the trans too, you are going to need something to hold up better then what you have now. i would hate to see you rip it apart on the inside the first time you let it lose.
if your going to spend the money and the time on the motor do the same on that trans too.
