jimbo95z28....I'm just basically cheap....and since the f-body guys are getting away with the stock ones in 500+hp motors I figure it'll be pretty safe for me to use 'em on something less powerful (and ALL LSx stock rockers are the same....truck OR car). The '99-'00 2500's are pretty much 1/2 ton trucks with 3/4 ton running gear, makes for a killer combo......1/2 ton weight with all the GOOD parts (14 bolt rear, factory 4.10's, 4L80e, 6.0, AND you get the AutoTrac transfer case on the 4x4 models)

PappyDan......The tranny is a 4L80e.....people are putting 800hp through STOCK ones, I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna damage it. And since the girlfriend OWNS half of my HOUSE I'm gonna keep her as happy as is necessary....know what I mean

I'm looking at other cams.....but after talking to marc_w and the guys at Vinci High Performance I'm pretty sold on the "047" grind, it acts like a MUCH bigger cam (220º+)without the drivability issues associated with the longer duration

Just curious, what do you mean by that?

what I mean is:

That cam will pull harder to 6000+rpm than a TR220 or TR224, it will idle better and will produce more hp and torque "under the curve" than either of them. A converter is NOT necessary to take advantage of the power, due to the lobe design the power at low-rpm (under 1500rpm) is equal to stock if not *slightly* better
