on the air filter bypass kit. LOL!

No to the MAF seems to be a popular opinion.
How about the pulley? Fairly easy mod to do.
Everyone says, tune, Tune, TUNE. So I think that may be next.

Bolt on a supercharger.

BTW, the 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 truck motors are still LS1's.

Are there any mods that'll help power without making the car and louder or drive differently than stock?

Also, aren't there any free mods or low cost mods for these trucks? Heads and cam seem to be towards the bottom of the list for most LT1 guys due to cost, I'd think the same for trucks where most people aren't looking to make it whoop Vipers or anything. Are there mail-order tunes available for $100-$150 bucks or so like Madwolf or "load it yourself" options from other people?

I think the cheapest I saw a tune for was like $250 from MTI or Thunder racing but in my situation I paid like $400 or so but I get free updates as long as I have the truck or eh engine I should say-the truck isnt going anywhere!

probablly an outdated post, I know a lot of forums hate for n00bs like me to revive an old post heh

I just got off the phone with combination motor sports and then air flow research. CMS recommended a 226/226 cam with 113LSA+2 and .570/.570 and a 2400-2600 stall converter, that sounds great to me, only problem is thats about $1500 and reall ymore than I wanna spend on just 1 little mod. But I figured it might be more power effective to do a head swap, so I called up AFR and they told me the ls1 heads will not work on vortec engines?? they sell a set of "vortec" 180CC heads (part # 0912) for $1200 a pair, but I find it hard to beleive the ls1 heads wont fit considering the motors look almost exactly the same?

my list so far is SOMETHING internal.. and then heders and a intake kit since I dont have a stock air box

but I'm open to suggestions! heh, my engines out of a vehicle, all wirings off and its down to heads block waterpump etc.
