What are your thoughts on through fender side exhaust?
I'm gonna need to figure something out for my exhaust pretty soon and always loved side exhaust through the fenders/quarter panel/side skirt like the C5R corvettes have. You guys think it will work on a truck? Think it'll look good?
It's gotta be functional and I don't like the chrome tips that yell look at me. I would rather it be subtle and just matter of fact there for a purpose.
Something like this maybe but further back...or not.

I know the theme youre going with... I would just dump the exhaust underneath the truck... no visible tips, just pure exhaust - functional!
Plus you will spend a pretty penny making it look good if you did it through a body panel, and it will have an effect on the paint as well, not to mention heat/soot

Jeez, I say be different and don't dump it like every other truck on here. I'll vote for side exhaust, but I'd just exit it in front of the rear tire. I think there will be too many issues with trying to mate it perfectly to the fender.
Somebody on here has done it before though, but I don't remember who. They put a metal trim ring around the exit in the fender presumably to hide any paint discoloration from the heat.

If I do it it's gonna be coming out right before the rear tire through the truck bed and not under the doors like in the Corvette. There are a few trucks out here that have side exhaust like your talking about kciSS05 (Dave can you post a picture of your side exhaust?). I like that look and had something similar on my CCSB before I sold it but I want to do something a little different.
Keep the opinions coming guys, still need to hear more pro's and con's!
Thanks
