Default whats a good rear end replacement?

this is kinda coming off of screams post. what is a good replacement for your rear end and its parts. i would actually like to replace the entire housing myself and 4link my truck. is there a different housing(aftermarket or factory) that would bolt right in to the stock setup until then. what about a Zex Torsen limited slip. it says it doesnt use clutches, that gears lock it up. or what about, i think it was called, a detroit truetrac or something like that. so whats the info guys

If would talk to a reputable vendor like Moser and see what they suggest. I know that their 12-bolts are VERY stout pieces and well liked in the F-body community.

I really think that a full or even semi floater 14-bolt is a little too much for what most of us want/need.

Another vote for Eaton Posi. I have both Eaton and Auburn and would pick Eaton any day of the week.

I would think the lunchbox lockers are a little weak for street use. They're somewhat limited to 33" tires in the offroad world.

If my 10 bolt were to blow up today, I'd get a custom Currie setup. Either 9" or 12 bolt.

the detroit truetrac from tractech is one that is says does not ever have to be rebuilt. it locks up using gears. and does anyone know how much it would cost to get a 4 linked rear end. ive been quoted $4k installed, but the thing with that is i dont know if i would still consider it a true street truck. i mean id still drive it everyday but people are wanting to call parish's truck not street driven cuz of the gas he uses. just a thought

KP components sells a bare 4link system for like 500. Ive seen a few guys use them on bagged trucks and I think GMCSki is using that 4link with coilovers
