Default Whats a good set of Headers

Hey everyone, I am looking for a set of long tube headers for my 2003 4.8L Silverado RCSB, I don't want to spend too much, but they must be long tubes. Thanks in advance.

Doug Thorley sells long tubes/y design/chrome for $435 shipped.
Got some pics in my signature right below. Click on the link.

btw. I bought them from summit for that price.
bad news is ports dont match up and chrome quality isn't the best.

when you say "Y design", does that mean they are designed to go into a Y pipe? I forgot to mention that I wanted True duals, so I'm going to run an X pipe. Do they have a website?

I don't know about brand names but long tubes with long collectors are the most efficient.

look at the headers. 2 pipes form into one and then you have 2 pipes at the collectors. 4-2-1, instead of normal 4 pipes forming at the collector.

ok ok, I get what you are saying, I'm still somewhat new at this. So is that more or less efficient than 4 pipes forming at the collector, it seems like it would be a little less.

and do these guys have a website??

nm, I found an article explaining the tri-Y design. Their website says they are meant for 99-01, but its still the same engine so it should be fine for the 03 I'm assuming, and when you say the chrome isn't the best, do you mean they started to rust? or they just didn't look spectacular? I'm not going to be too picky on looks, but I don't really want to have to get them coated.

Tri-y's are suppost to create a suction and take in more exhaust, but i've never seen a test. Go to summitracing.com and look under exhaust, then Doug Thorley y design headers. You'll find them.($434 shipped

In the picture i posted, on the passengeres side header, pipe 3 back, the chrome on the top already started peeling. ?, I'm guessing shitty chrome, but no its not rust. Same here on the looks, especially for the great price compared to the rest.

I plan on going with Dean LaPole mid lengths when these ware out, I've heard really good things and they come ceramic coated for $585.

sounds good, what kind of performance increase did you see, did you dyno after you installed them?
