Talking Whats Out There For The 6.0l Iron Block Lq4 Looking To Put 350 Hp To Rear Wheels..

I Just Recently ( Well, 2006), After A Long Alliance With Ford Decided To Come Over To Gm ( One Word Here: Pushrods Rule).. Anyone Got A Gm 2500 Hd With The Lq4 Who Has Built It Up?? I Hear Conflicting Stories On Doing A Cold Air/aftermarket Intake.. Any Of The Programmers Worth A Darn Unless Set To Run On 91 Octane Fuel?? Anybody Tried Cams And Still Been Able To Tow Good Or Better Than Stock?? What Am I Working With Stock Heads-wise (yes-no-suck??) Truck Is 2006 2500 Hd 4x4 Gmc Work Truck Package.4.10 Gears Lq4..

I Love How It Runs ( Thanks 6.0) But If I Am Gonna Get 12mpg All The Time I Want My Horsepower..it Sure Runs Circles Around Ford's 5.4..
(note: Traded 05 4x2 F150 Super Crew It Only Got 14!!)

I Will Say This..gm Did Think A Little On The Exhaust.. Boy Was I Surprised To See True Duals Back To That 55-gallon Drum Size Single Outlet Muffler! Thats Long Gone.. Now Has Dual In/out Two Chamber Flowmaster With Turndowns By Spare Tire ( Tried To Hide As Much As Possible) .. Sounds Great And A Little Punichier In Midrange ..( Know Why Camaro/vette/gto/firebird Guys Love Their Cars Hehe)

Any Help Would Be Nice.. I Can Deal With The Older 305/350 But I Dont Know Much About Our Friend Ls .. No It Doesnt Knock Hehe..
Thanks ..

If you have the money for a blower/turbo, frankly, I'd do that.

If not, West Coast Cylinder Heads and a number of others have great CNC ported cylinder heads that will help. A smaller(relatively speaking) cam will still allow you to tow. I'd say something up to the 220* at .050" lift range would be fine. You're going to need to get all that air out as well. Headers will help.

Oh and read the Sticky that nightrunner posted about bolt on parts.

It won't take very much to get 350rwhp with an LQ4. LT headers, intake and a small cam would probably net you a little over 350. I ran the lingenfelter gt2-3 cam in my old LQ4 and it was great. I never dynoed it, but my *** dyno would say about 350 is in the ballpark.
