You guys are right to wonder why you have Nice, Pretty and larger looking Red Wires. The are actually a performance upgrade, done by General Motors before you ever thought about getting the truck.

The 2004's are OEM/Stock with a larger diameter plug wire, which will conduct far better that the previous style, since your 2004 GM trucks come factory-preinstalled- Iridium AC Delco performance type Sparkies too!

It makes for better fuel atomization directly proportional to the enhanced fuel milage you will get with those trucks.

When I first saw them on one of our New Trucks on the Sales Lot, I swiped the Vin# Info. and investigated. I noticed the diffrence and ordered the same set up for my 2003 GMC 5.3 Z71. Not to mention, when you are taking these new RED Plug Wires off, they don't break and tear at the boots, like the old one did. Much, much tougher wires. They are actually listed in the 2005 GM Performance Parts Catalog as an upgrade to the spark/ignition system.

This is just 1 of many upgrades the 2004 & up's have recieved. Along with the nice Intake Manifold upgrade...yes it's true. A much nicer Throttle Body they share w/2003's. And a new-designed Torque Converter to try and remedy some of the funny sounds you hear when you accelerate, hit W.O.T., hit a small jounce in the road, or hit any decent sized hole or bump, put the truck into reverse while holding a bit of the brake and even when you come to a abrupt stop......because of a "low-tone/metallic sounding/screech or thud".

Anyway, if you guys out there need some part numbers on these new additions, just shout over here at me and I'll drop them in one evening.

so whats the resistance on the red plug wires? I checked my MSD's today. they are all around 36 ohms. i checked the factory black ones. 2800 ohms!! thats a big differance. i'm curiuos to what the red GM ones have. I almost bought the GM ones but went with the MSDs since they were the same price.

Hey Slammed 04 Silverado, that's gonna' be no problem. I go back to work on Monday, so Monday night, I'll log in and send you a email or an PM you with them, and I'll include the Mfg. suggested retail price.....but never pay reatil for them. Just talk to the parts counter person for a few minutes and ask if they'll give you about a 15% discount. If not, just get up with me.

I'll post the Plug Wire Numbers and the Numbers for the Delco Iridium Plugs too!

Not a problem GMPartsguy. Im a mechanic so i can get parts a cost. I just want the part numbers for my personal use and to see if they would be the same as what i already have. You know sometimes they try to give you some fucked up part that is soposed to be the right one but its not. Thanks bro!!
