? wheel hop drag race cures that are street friendly
ran 13.88 with my whipple , but slowed down by no traction and wheel hhop. anyone just put some overload air bags between the rear axle and frame ? that what we did back in the day to my friends 390 67 mustang . then we would preload the axles with air pressure at the strip. around town almost no air pressure to retain ride. can i do this to my truck/ THE CAL TRACS ARE INTERESTING BUT SEEM LIKE A COMPROMISE, I USE MY TRUCK EVERYDAY FOR WORK OVER SPEED BUMPS SOMETIMES OFF ROAD AND I FEAR THE REDUCCED GROUND CLEARANCE. JUST HOW FAR DO THEY HANG DOWN OVER STOCK / 2 or three inches? anyway I NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO HOOK UP .

my truck has a totally stock suspension . It sits slightly taller than stock cause of the escalade 17 rims with stock caddy 265/70/17 wrangler tires.I am perplexed by the miniscule difference between these stock tall tiresof31.25 and my 255/50/16 comp t/a drag radials at about26.2 inches. drag radials 13.88 with a 2.188 60 ft. goes through at about5100 rpm in third gear. the tall 17 street tires ran 13.902 with a 2.23 60 ft. barely shifts into third at end running 4000 rpm through the lights.not much difference for such a radical change in overall gearing. I think its cause I have to launch so gentle that I do not get full benifit of the drag radial.I have a stock converter and trans. I dcao not brake torque leave at 600 rpm or so . other wise up in smoke and hop.cal trac e mailed me said they do installs they are an hour drive for me to get to maybe 2 . anyone running them on the street? are they noisy etc and do they a negative impact on the handling of my truck on curves etc.
