Question Where can I send my 8.1L heads and intake>???

Currently have an 04' Avalanche 2500. I would like a diesel(modability) but love the versatility of my Avalanche.
So I am thinking about tearing apart the top end and sending everything out for a port and polish job. Patriot can't help me. Is there anyone out there that has a CNC program for these or is there someone that can give them a VERY good hand job>???
I would also be installed a cam as well with the needed parts.
Thanks for any info or help. -Mat-

Oh yeah, I currently have a Superchips Programmer, Gibson Catback and K&N FIPK.

I wonder if Raylar Engine will do port work. I do know they got some pretty nice aluminum heads they sell. Raylar Engine really is the best place for 8.1 fun!!

I would check with the marine world. The 8.1 is a pretty popular engine in hotboating today and there is quite alot of aftermarket parts for them. I would think some of the marine guys would know some tricks to getting the performance out of them.

I'm in the same boat as you SVT F150.
I got 28K miles on my 04 2500 Av, and I was thinkin in my head, why not a Ramjet 502 (it'd play hell with electronics), but maybe a swap down to the 6.0L, seeing as they should mount up the same (2500Yukons had 6.0 or 8.1 choice). From there, put a low RPM range turbo, and then have a turbo to pick up the top end perhaps? I kinda like using 87 octane though, 75 bucks a week for gas on just that is plenty pricey.
How's the sound on your gibson catback? I got two nasty flow 40's, one in one out, that are pretty weaksauce.
Can you run 87 on the Raylar heads/103 cam kit?

I spoke with Ray from Raylar earlier after making this post. GREAT guy! Took the time to answer every question I had. I will most likely be going with his heads/cam program in the next few months.
You are going to need a tune of course so you can tune for 87 octane if that is what you wish.
My Gibson sounds horrible, it doesn't really sound like anything. HaHa. Big waste of money there. I am thinking on switch to Flowmasters or trying out a Magnaflow setup.
Why do I feel this truck is going to turn out like my Lightning and never be fast enough>??? HaHa. -Mat-

SVT F150 if you want the low down on Ray stuff let me know I have ran into some problems with his heads. I haven't contacted him yet. I haven't had time to get to machine shop to take pixs to send to him. If you want some one to port 8.1 try http://www.crockettmarineengines.com/ or http://azspeed.com/.

OKcruising The 8.1 is very different from the old BB a 502 would not interchange but the 6.0 will drop right in. All of Raylar combos are set up for 87 oct.

Any info you can give would be greatly appreciated as this will not be something I want to do twice. If you prefer to keep any info off the boards I can understand that. My email address is: svt_f150@sbcglobal.net
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. -Mat-

Yep, I hear Raylar is the place to call. Also check out the Avalance site http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php if you have not already done so. Lots of good stuff on the 8.1L motor there.
