Default Where to find parts to upgrade 01 C3 brakes?

Looking to upgrade the brakes on this truck for some road racing, and wondering who has the parts that would fit this truck? Thx!

there are a cuple options, 1 the baer eradispeeds which uses the stock calipeer but upgrades to a 14" cross-drilled rotor front and rear. anf now there is a Brembo kit. the baer is about 500-550 an end. and the Brembo is like 3K for the whole setup.

you should also switch to SS braided line to firm up the pedal.
the best upgrade for road duty would be to also switch the truck over to the hydroboost from the 3/4 ton and up trucks.

I like the idea of the braided line, but the 3k for the brembo stuff ain't gonna happen, and I believe the baer stuff requires 20 inch tires, which eliminates it also, so maybe the braided line and some hawk pads? Thx!

Eradispeeds only require a 18" wheel, I believe. Not 20".

I would start with ss lines, high performance fluid, and maybe hawk pads. Those would make a world of diff on your truck. Probably more than the Eradispeed upgrade, which from experiences I've heard, is mainly for looks. Don't believe what their website claims.

I believe Earl's and Russell, both make the ss lines for your truck. Just have to check.

Actually better tires would make more of a performance stopping difference then anything.

the eradispeed does require an 18" although there are a few 17's that will clear. the 14"rotor does give you a mechanical advantage over the 12.6" stock rotor. butt yes,s.s. lines and good pads. will bwe the best bang for the buck, however you said your going to be doing road course stuff and the cross drilled larger rotor will absorb and dissapate more heat from repeated stops. this is where larger rotors do really make a difference. A cold single stop you'll probably on get a foot or two advantage but after 10 stops the larger rotors will definitely make a difference. although next year all GM trucks will get a brake and rotor and M.C. upgrade. with 17" being the smallest wheel offered. you can wait and get factory parts

Oh yeah, I've got the eradispeed's on my burb, the hawk pads and S.S line made the biggest difference in pedal feel and feedback. the eradispeeds do allow you to attain some astonshing stops from 130(where I've set the speed limiter) when combined with the ss lines and hawk pads. but i'm also running 22's and pirelli scorpion zero tires 305/40/22

I'll be staying with my factory 17 inch wheels for the street, and I currently use some scorpion tires on 15 inch rims that effectively lower my gear ratio for the drags, and I've used them at the road course.

So where does a guy get some hawk pads and the braided lines? Thx!

SOunds cool, I might want to upgrade to SS braided lines and those pads as well. Do they put off a lot of brake dust or are they a ceramic pad? Thanks for the info!

you may want to check out my post on the C3 message board. I had the same questions of upgrading rotors, pads, fluid, and SS lines. Only problem is that no one knows anything about the C3 brake system. More then likely 1500 rotors will work with 2500 pads as people have said the C3 has 2500 calipers. The stock rotor sizes are 305/29 front and 330/30 rear. I called Baer and they said their half ton Plus one rotors should fit fine. The closest thing are Denali brakes.
