Where to send Yank
Well for the 2nd time in 36k miles Ive managed to smoke the trans. It will be warrantied again but my question is where should I send the converter to get cleaned and checked out? Should i send it back to Yank and get them to do it, or would a shop around town be able to do a good enough job to trust putting it back in?

i got mine done localy for $150. they cut it open, cleaned it, inspected it, welded it and balanced it. that was my tt3000.
when i killed the 4l80e i tried to do the same thing but this time there was converter damage. since i had it cut open localy yank would not fix the converter. there is a long story there and you can look it up in the tranny section if you feel like it but just so you know if you do it local yank wont touch it again.

I have been thinking about going to a Yank Stall in my 2500hd 6.0l. I have a buddy that rebuilds auto trannies for a living and I talked to him about it. He told me that he is a little concerned that most of the higher stall converters he has seen go out and trash the trans. Is this what you guys are going thru? Now he is not really a performance shop but they do get hot rods in and he said the b&M converter is probably the worst.
