You may be right. I have bought rebuilt engines and had them installed for less than $6k before but that was 5 and 10 years ago and one was only a built 454 and the other an '88 350. $15k sounds like there rippin you a new one. Maybe I should have said 400+ ci.

I say you need to shop around for some deals. call some shops you want it installed at and ask for out the door prices on different setups, and then choose. or do the work yourself and save money, and get more out of your 8grand. I know if I had 8k I would have one hell of a 10 second setup.

rather not go with a used S/C kit, to be honest. No turbo for me ither, iv had turbo cars before, and would rahter not go that route.

So it would seem you have the drive line pretty much beefed up.. Find a used 6.0, have a set of heads done, nice FI cam, a tvs 19-2300.. or go with a d1 procharger, as you have the gears for that. Your going be pumping heat with a maggie in a bigger cube engine if you try to turn it up You def not buying a new engine and anew blower with only 8k.. Its pretty sad but is the truth.. 2500-3k will get you a nice short end if you can't do one your self..
As far as us procharger guys, hell we are few and far between compared to the guys with tvs-maggies, turbos.. There might be 20 guys(atleast that post up) on the site that have procharged trucks, comp to the rest...That is all because back in the day procharger was the step child, nobody thought they were worth a damn on a street truck.. I beg to differ that point..

and to answer the OPs ?, id say build up a nice heads/cam 6L and find a used blower. even tho you said you didn't want used. but even a nice heads/cam 6L by itself will put out more power than a maggie on a 5.3.

I hear yah, I know it wont get me both, thats why its either ither.
I may be on cloud 9, but im thinking with my setup, and a tvs 1900 Im sure I could make between 450-480 rwhp in the truck with a maggie. I dont think Id make nearly that with a H/C 6/0L package, or am I wrong?
