where to tap into green a/c wire for VSC?
I am almost done with my LS1 fans install
I remember someone saying that you can tap into the green wire of the A/C somewhere up by the intake? I have had no luck finding this wire...
the wire is hot when the a/c is on right?

Don't worry about the A/C wire. Everything will be fine without it hooked up. I used my A/C all summer without the wire hooked up.
More than likely the fans will be running most of the time anyway if you have the A/C on and driving slow/stopped. If your going fast enough the fans won't even have to come on.

I knew I should have added this info last night I usually tap the green wire with the white stripe. This goes to the connector that plugs into the very back of the compressor (can be seen laying under the truck on the passenger's side). That plug also has a blue wire running to it. This will then connects to #8 on the terminal on the Flex-a-lite controller.

i never tried not using the fans with the compresor but if you can get by without it i say do that. the continuas cycleing of the fans when the compresor cycles is prety anoying. other wise it would be better to find a constant hot source from the AC, some power somewhere that is on when the ac is on and stays on rather than cycles with the compresor.

I disagree you should run the fans anytime you are running the compressor. The condenser pressure will get very high in a short amount of time and could blow a hose or damage your compressor besides not cooling very well sitting at a stop. Just tap into the green wire that goes directly to your compressor clutch and use that to turn on a relay that controls the fans.

My '99 was weird with the compressor turn on and off intervals. I also noticed it took a few sec (around 3-4) for the compressor to kick on after turning the A/C on. My '01 comes on almost instantly.
Besides the fans run at low speed with the the wire running to the VSC.
